During one of our regular workouts, a friend told of how a Physical Education teacher many years ago explained that staying fit and healthy was a lifelong endeavor, and asked those in the class to raise their hand if they planned to continue working out for the rest of their lives.

“I’ve always remembered raising my hand,” my friend said, and has continued a rigorous exercise regimen for over 40 years. This teacher had a major impact on his life.

Machines at your gym are fine, however RESISTANCE BANDS, BODY WEIGHT EXERCISES, YOGA, and other methods can more readily improve your ability to be able to function in your everyday life as well as in your athletic pursuits . FUNCTIONAL IMPROVEMENTS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

Use of a HEART RATE MONITOR.

Use of a Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE Scale) as an informal guide for your efforts.

Use of pedometers.
